Bernabei Endorses Popurella for Bureau County State’s Attorney!
Former Bureau County State’s Attorney and Retired Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei has endorsed Bradley Popurella for Bureau County State’s Attorney. A 14-year veteran as Bureau County State’s Attorney, Bernabei was later elected Resident Circuit Judge of Bureau County. “I have known Brad Popurella for 24 years, and was able to observe his presentations in Court for a number of years. He was prepared and always fought hard for his clients,” Bernabei said. “Having done the job for 14 years, and seeing what Brad is capable of, I am confident that the residents of Bureau County would be well-served and strongly represented with his election.” Bernabei also added that Popurella’s broad-based criminal and civil experience make him a natural for the top post.
Asked about the endorsement, Popurella responded “to be endorsed by Judge Bernabei means the world to me. As State’s Attorney, he was a tough, relentless prosecutor who tirelessly represented victims of crimes and was an inspiration of mine in the way he took drugs and criminals off of the streets.” Bernabei handled many record-breaking Interstate 80 drug cases, and successfully prosecuted multiple murder cases.
